During “lockdown time”, Our Chaplain’s licensing service was held in church on February 7th 2021, and we were also able to hold our carol service in St Marc’s (grand volume) on Sunday 20th December at 17:00. Otherwise, all our services were on zoom from November 1st until February 28th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 15th, Elizabeth led our service. Nick preached on “Living Bread: flesh and blood<\/a>“. Our readings were Eph 5: 15 – 20 and John 6: 51 – 58. Philippe led our prayers. Our songs were Guide me O thou great redeemer, How deep the father’s love for us, take my life and let it be, there is a redeemer, Just as I am and Great is thy faithfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 8th, Julia led our service. Nick preached on “Living Bread<\/a>“. Our readings were 1 Kings 19: 3 – 9, psalm Psalm 34: 1 \u2013 10 and John 6: 35, 41 \u2013 5. David led the prayers. Our songs were How sweet the name of Jesus sounds, Open the eyes of my heart, Broken for me, Bless\u00e8d be your name and How great thou art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 1st Samuel led our service. Philippe preached. Our readings were Eph. 4:1-16 and John 6:24-35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 25th, Philippe led our service. Nick preached on “Treasure in clay jars”. The readings were 2 Corinthians 4: 7 – 15, Mark 6: 45 – 56. Samuel led the prayers. The songs were Tell out my soul<\/strong>, Jesus shall take the highest honour<\/strong>, My Jesus, my Saviour<\/strong>, For I\u2019m building a people of power<\/strong>,To God be the glory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 18th, Elizabeth led our service. Our readings were Eph. 2: 17 – 22, Mark 6:30-44. Nick preached on “Sheep without a shepherd and the big picnic<\/a>“. Eric led the prayers. Our songs were O worship the King<\/strong>, As the deer pants for the water<\/strong>, The Lord\u2019s my shepherd<\/strong>, When we walk with the Lord (Trust and Obey)<\/strong>, Eat this bread and Let all who are thirsty come (Taiz\u00e9), \u2018O for a thousand tongues to sing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 11th, Julia led our service. Our readings were Eph. 1: 3 – 14, Psalm 85: 8 – 13, Mark 6: 14 – 29. Nick preached on “God or Man<\/a>“. Philippe led the prayers. Our songs were : Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, Lord Jesus Christ (Living Lord), All hail the power of Jesus\u2019 Name, You are my all in all, “in the Lord I’ll be ever thankful” and “Laudate Dominum” (Taiz\u00e9), There\u2019s a place where the streets shine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 4th<\/strong> Samuel led our service. Our Readings were 2 Cor. 12: 2- 10, Psalm 123: 1 – 5 and Mark 6: 1 – 13. Philippe preached on “Ambassadors for Christ” and Val led the prayers. Our songs were :Hear the call of the kingdom<\/strong>, Tell out, my soul<\/strong>, Rise up (go forth)<\/strong>, Mercy<\/strong>,I, the Lord of sea and sk<\/strong>y, Amazing Grace<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 27th<\/strong>, Ruth led our service. Our readings were 2 Cor. 8: 7 – 24, Ps.30: 1 – 12, Mark 5: 21 – 43. Nick preached on ‘Do not fear – Believe!<\/a>\u2019. Samuel led our prayers. Our songs were How deep the Father\u2019s love for us, Almighty God to whom all hearts are open, God forgave my sin (freely freely),  I do not know what lies ahead, What a friend we have in Jesus, Be still and know that I am God,  Jesus be the Centre<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 20th<\/strong>, Elizabeth led our service. Our readings were 2 Cor. 6:1-13 and Mark 4:35-41. Nick preached on ‘Why are You Afraid<\/a>?’. Eric led our prayers. Our songs were It is well with my soul, Be bold, be strong, Safe in the shadow of the Lord, In Christ Alone, My Jesus, My Saviour, We rest on thee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 13th<\/strong>, Samuel led our service. Our readings were 2 Corinthians 5: 6 – 10, 14 – 17, Psalm 92: 1- 4, 12 – 15, Mark 4: 26 – 34. Nick preached on “A new creation <\/a>?”. Ruth led our prayers. Our songs were Breathe on me breath of God<\/strong>, Cleanse me from my sin, Lord<\/strong>, Reconciled<\/strong>, For I\u2019m building a people of power<\/strong>, Jesus, you are changing me<\/strong>, The Power of your love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 6th<\/strong>, Julia led our service. Our readings were 2 Cor. 4: 13 – 5: 1 and Mark 3: 20 – 35. Nick preached on “Family or Friends ?<\/a>“, Philippe led our prayers. Our songs were : Brother, sister let me serve you<\/strong>, Faithful One<\/strong>, The splendour of the King<\/strong>, All I once held dear<\/strong>, Take my life and let it be<\/strong>, Eat this bread and Bless the Lord my soul (Taiz\u00e9), I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 30th (Trinity Sunday), 16 people were baptised. David led our service, Our readings were Romans 8: 12 – 17 and John 3: 1 – 9, 14 – 17. Nick preached on “Children of God<\/a>“. Our songs were How deep the Father\u2019s Love for Us<\/strong>, For I\u2019m building a people of power<\/strong>, Because He Lives<\/strong>, I have decided to follow Jesus<\/strong>, Breathe on me breath of God<\/strong>, Shine Jesus shine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 23rd, (Pentecost) Ruth led our service. Our readings were Acts 2:1-21, Psalm 104:26-37, John 15:26-27;16:4-15. Samuel led our prayers. Nick preached on “What does this mean?<\/a>“. Our songs were Come down O love divine<\/strong>, Almighty God<\/strong>, Purify my Heart<\/strong>, Lord of the Church<\/strong>, Where can I go from your Spirit?<\/strong> Spirit of the Living God<\/strong>, O God of burning cleansing flame – send the fire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 16th<\/strong> Tarah led our service in St Marc’s and on zoom. Our readings were Acts 1: 1 – 14<\/strong> and John 17: 6 – 19<\/strong>. Nick preached on ‘What next’<\/a>. Philippe led our prayers. Our songs were All hail the power of Jesus’ name, Though I feel afraid, Open the eyes of my heart, Over all the earth, I the Lord of sea and sky, Aber du weisst \/the kingdom of God (Taiz\u00e9), Rise up (go forth).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 13th<\/strong> (Ascension day) we held a short service in St Marc’s. Our readings were Acts 1: 1 – 11<\/strong> and Luke 24: 44 – 53<\/strong>. Nick preached on ‘Staring into heaven<\/a>‘, our songs were All hail the power of Jesus’ name, Breathe on me, breath of God and All heaven declares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 9th,<\/strong> Julia led our service in church and on zoom. Our readings were Acts 10:44-48, Psalm 98:1-10 and John 15:6\u201319. Nick preached on ‘Love and Joy<\/a>‘. Ruth led our prayers. Our songs were Great is thy faithfulness, Almighty God, I love you, Lord, You are the Vine, Be not afraid, In the Lord I’ll be ever thankful and Our darkness( Taiz\u00e9) and Bless the Lord, O my soul (10 000 reasons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 2nd<\/strong>, Elizabeth led our service in church and on zoom. During the service, our churchwardens were sworn in, and our council introduced to the congregation. Our readings were Acts 8:26-40 and John 15:1-8, Nick preached on ‘Do you understand<\/a>?’. Ruth Led our prayers. Our songs were Be thou my vision, Though I feel afraid, Speak o Lord, Open the eyes of my heart, You are the vine, Our darkness and Confitemini Domino (Taiz\u00e9), Come, people of the risen King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 25th, <\/strong>Samuel led our service in church and on zoom. Our readings were Acts 4:1-12 and John 10:11-18. Nick preached on ‘the Name of Jesus<\/a>‘. Philippe led our prayers. Our songs were : Bless\u00e8d be the Name of the Lord, Jesus, Name above all names (2 versions), The Lord\u2019s my shepherd, At the name of Jesus Jesus, be the Centre, All hail the power of Jesus’ Name ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 18th,<\/strong> Val led our service in church and on zoom. Our readings were Acts 3:12-19, Psalm 4 and Luke 24:36b-49. Alan preached on “Witnesses”. Val also led our prayers. Our songs were All heaven declares, At your feet we fall, Make me a channel of your peace, Behold the Lamb, Eat this bread and Wait for the Lord (Taiz\u00e9), and Go forth and tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 11th,<\/strong> Julia led our service in church and on zoom. Our Readings were Acts 4 : 32 – 35 and John 20: 19 – 31. Nick preached on ‘Belief and Testimony<\/a>‘. Samuel led our prayers. Our songs were Jesus Lives, Almighty god, He has risen, Come, people of the risen King, The Servant king, Bless the Lord, my soul and Laudate Dominum (Taiz\u00e9), In Christ Alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 4th<\/strong> (Easter day), David led our service in church and on zoom. Our readings were Mark 16:1-8 and Acts 10:34-43. Nick preached on ‘He is risen<\/a>‘, 8 people were baptised. Eric led our prayers. Our songs were : Jesus Christ is risen today, How deep the father’s love for us, An Easter Hymn (words by Clifford Owen), Peace to you (Kendrick), Jubilate Coeli (Taiz\u00e9), Thine be the Glory\/A toi la gloire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 28th<\/strong>, Philippe led our Palm Sunday service in church and on zoom. Our readings were Mark 11: 1 – 11, Psalm 31: 9 – 10, 14 – 16, Mark 15: 1 – 20, 22 – 26. Nick preached on “King’s cross”<\/a>. Alan and Val led our prayers. Our songs were Ride on, ride on in Majesty, Hosanna Hosanna, My song is love unknown, Hosanna in the highest, Jesus, remember me (Taiz\u00e9), When I survey the wondrous cross. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 21st<\/strong>, Elizabeth led our service in St Marc’s and on zoom. Our readings were Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 51:1-13, John 12:20-30. Nick preached on “We want to see Jesus”<\/a>. Philippe led our prayers. Our songs were Light of the world, Almighty God, Lord I come to you (The power of your love), Open the eyes of my heart, Behold the Lamb, Hosanna in the Highest, Eat this bread (Taiz\u00e9), Immortal, Invisible God only wise<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 14th,<\/strong> Julia led a family service in St Marc’s and on zoom. Our readings were Colossians 3:12 \u201317, Psalm 34:11\u201315, John 9:1\u20137. Nick preached on “Love is … doing what you’re told”. <\/a> Samuel led our prayers. Our songs were Breathe on me, breath of God, When we walk with the Lord (Trust and Obey), I have decided to follow Jesus, Love divine, all loves excelling, You shall go out with Joy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 7th<\/strong>, Penny and David led the service in St Marc’s and on zoom. Our readings were Exodus 20:1-7, Psalm 22: 23 \u2013 28, John 2:13-22. Nick preached on “God’s Rules<\/a>“. Eric led our prayers. Our songs were : Thou whose almighty word, Almighty God, My hope is built on nothing less, A new commandment, O Jesus, I have promised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 28th<\/strong>, we celebrated Holy Communion in St Marc’s and on zoom. Our Readings were Genesis 17: 1 – 7, 15 – 16, Psalm 22: 23 – 28,Mark 8: 31 – 38. Nick preached on “covenant to cross<\/a>“. Val led our prayers. Our songs were : Come, now is the time to worship, Almighty God, God forgave my sin (freely freely), Man of sorrows, in Christ alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
